About

Arthur Star is a proud Canadian now living in Northern California. With a sharp wit and a well-aimed middle finger, Art cheerfully invites the bullies, trolls, and mean-spirited folks of the world to kindly buzz off—you know who you are and should move on now.
After spending over two decades in active addiction and untreated mental illness, Art is now sober, being therapized, and mildly grumpy but getting on with it. These days, he finds joy in the absurd, the lighthearted, and the beautifully broken. That contrast—between the chaos of living in a storm drain because heroin felt really important, and the relative calm of where he is now—informs his exploration of what it’s all about, how we all deal with it, and why it makes some of us act fucking crazy.
But let’s not get too serious. Art’s brain is also a playground for aliens, monsters, robots, and other delightful weirdos. He’s a storyteller at heart, drawn to the strange and the spectacular. He writes what he knows—and what he wishes were real. Think of it as sci-fi for the disappointed-but-not-surprised, with an exploding glitter slap to the face—as if Edward Gorey ran a disco.
He enjoys theme parks, the dark side, and life with his partner and their cast of dogs with questionable boundaries.
